“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
That is one of my favorite quotes of all time. Some say the quote is attributed to Plato; others say Philo of Alexandria and some even say, John Watson. I suppose it does not matter who said it, what it represents is so much more important.
I am committed to practice kindness every day. Even with that person. You never really know what that person is fighting on any given day. People act as they do for a reason, and, you never know, your act of kindness may be what that person needs today.
Sometimes “those people you meet” are in your own family, or even your own house. All you can give is love when love is all you have to give. Blessings come in many forms.
Congratulations on your new blog! Looking forward to future posts. I loved this one…many times as I am reading comments on editorials or social media I shake my head in wonder as to where has our basic civility gone. I think “be kind” is a great reminder for each of us to post on our bathroom mirror, kitchen table, exit door, car dashboard and workplace. Simple but an effective reminder. Thanks Mike!
This is EXACTLY how Jesus walked the Earth. Everything he did was in acts of kindness.
